California Ecology did a thorough job of accessing our sweetgum trees and providing a treatment and watering plan. Thank you.
Tiger OrtizCalifornia Ecology Arborists are great to work with. They were able to get us the necessary report in less than a week from when I contacted them. Highly recommend using them.
Jennifer YipWe hired California Ecology Arborists during our home inspection, and Killian was great to work with. He took the time to walk the property with us, inspect several large trees, and explain what he was seeing without making anything feel overly technical or alarmist. He was straightforward about what needed attention, what could wait, and what wasn’t really a concern. The part I appreciated most was all the extra context he shared. He helped us understand why the landscaping looked the way it did, what had likely happened over the years, and what we should expect if we bought the house. It gave us a much better understanding of the property and definitely helped us feel more confident moving forward with the purchase. I’d happily recommend Killian and California Ecology Arborists to anyone who needs an arborist, especially if you’re buying a home and want an honest, knowledgeable opinion.
Elvin ChaconKillian from California Ecology Experts helped us diagnose what was going on with our Elm tree. Within minutes, Killian diagnosed the tree's issue with precision and confidence. You can tell Killian has a whole lot of expertise in what he does and that he really loves trees! I was pretty disheartened to learn of our 100 year old tree's fate (devastated actually), but Killian was kind, patient, and helpful in walking us through the process--from how the tree likely got sick and what options we had going forward. I could tell from the outset that Killian is honest in his work and is never trying to upsell products or services, which this day and age, is very respectable! Thank you, Cal Ecology Experts for your kind and expert diagnosis.
IODA ConstructionI had a great experience working with this company for an arborist report for my Manhattan Beach construction project. They were professional, knowledgeable, and very responsive from start to finish. Communication was clear, the report was completed quickly, and the entire process was smooth and efficient. I truly appreciated their attention to detail and excellent customer service.
DaleI noticed that some of my hedges were dying and I reached out to to California Ecology Arborists to get an assessment on what I could do to address this matter and the health of a number of other plants at my property. I was pleased at the ease at which I was able to schedule a consultation. At the time of my appointment, the arborist patiently answered all my questions and took a genuine interest in providing a complete set of recommendations for what I could do better. Thank you for your service!
Soonse HwangWe had an excellent experience with California Ecology Arborists. We contacted them during a very time-sensitive home inspection period because we needed a professional assessment of several mature trees at a property we were considering purchasing. From the initial communication to the on-site visit, the team was responsive, professional, and extremely helpful. Ben took the time to carefully evaluate the trees, explain his observations, and provide thoughtful recommendations. His expertise helped us better understand the potential risks and options moving forward. We also appreciated receiving a clear written memorandum summarizing the assessment and recommendations, which was very helpful during the inspection process. Thank you to Jacob, Ben, and the entire California Ecology Arborists team for your excellent service and willingness to help on a tight timeline. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for knowledgeable and trustworthy arborist services.
Jack WeiI’ve hired California Ecology Arborist to assess the trees in my mature .30 acre yard, including a coral tree that appears to have some rot at the base of its trunk. Killian was very knowledgeable and provided me with many tips on keeping these them healthy (including excavating their root crowns, watering frequency, type of fungicide I should use, etc.). There were some issues that require immediate attention. I am glad I have consulted with him before these issues pass their point of no return.
Ken JaeI rarely write a review but Kilian was so outstanding, I want to share my great experience with this company. We also have about 12 large protected trees that I want to remove from my property in order to build my dream house in San Marino. I’ve talked to many, many people about doing this job. I got a quote from Ca Ecology Arborist that I felt was very fair for the amount of work needed, and I agreed to the job. Kilian and co. was simply the best. There were professional and provided the arborist report on time. Overall, it was a great experience at a fair price. I’ll definitely be reaching out to them again for any future tree.

Vivi A.The arborist Killian Vendler is very professional and knowledgeable. He was here on time, surveyed the property, took photos, measured, did whatever he had to do, answered all my questions. In few days I received the Evaluation Report. I recommend him for all your tree/landscape needs & questions! His staff is also wonderful and very knowledgeable.Posted on Yelp
Philip G.Amazing service and support. I appreciate their knowledge on all things trees and were able to assess the tree health and walked us through all our questions. Fantastic work and would use them again in the future!Posted on Yelp
Sabine G.I needed an evaluation of my mature Privet hedge, damaged by trespassers crossing through it to the neighboring vacant property for an entire year. Killian came the next day. He isn't just a superb arborist, he is also an exceptional human being, listening to and understanding the heap of trauma the hedge and I went through. He took the time and care to do a thorough evaluation and delivered an in-depth report shortly after. I'd give 10 stars in a breeze for California Ecology Arborists' excellence and quality. Thank you Killian and Jacob!!Posted on Yelp
Cathy B.The leaves on one of my trees is dying. Cutting off branches with dead leaves made the situation worse. I contacted California Ecology Arborists. Using photos I sent, Killian was able to provide a likely cause of the problem in a timely manner at a very reasonable cost. I looked at the tree for signs of what Killian proposed as a possible cause, invasive shothole borer and fusarium dieback, and I believe this is what is affecting my tree. Killian's report is thorough and includes recommended interim tree care, which I appreciate.Posted on Yelp
Christina W.I had several questions about various mature trees on my property, and Killian was incredibly informative. We are remodeling a water feature that has big beautiful trees nearby, and I wanted to know how much of the root system I could remove before it would affect the trees. I at first thought of having a regular tree service come to give us an evaluation, but they are generally specialized on trimming the trees. I wanted someone who could give a more comprehensive evaluation. Found out several important pieces of information, including that our birch tree is not sick and does not have to be cut down, something we had been told to do in the past by another tree person. I definitely recommend this service for an informed, professional evaluation. Thanks, guys!Posted on Yelp
Eddie T.You'll be wasting time and money if you go with any other arborist. REALLY. Killian needs a 10-star. I shopped around with many arborists and even hired one, but the experience was terrible. I hired Killian to finish the job, and his crew is top-tier professionals. SUPER FAST, EFFICIENT, AND AFFORDABLE. It's immediately obvious that he and his team truly love what they do and genuinely care about delivering a great outcome for property owners, especially when navigating the strict requirements of the City of Los Angeles for building permits. I'm so thrilled with Killian's work that I'm more than willing to take the time to help him grow his business. I've already referred a client to him, and they were just as happy with his quick turnaround, high-quality, and professional-grade service. If you ever want to chat about urban forestry or hear more about the incredible job Killian did for me, feel free to reach out to me directly at 310-466-9494Posted on Yelp
Alexandra M.Killian was responsive and fast! He came within 1-2 days of calling him and got a report to me very quickly! They're reliable and knowledgeable!Posted on YelpSage S.I had a good experience with Cal Eco Arborists. I worked with them to create comprehensive appraisal of a property that had been completely destroyed, which is no small task. The team worked diligently with me throughout the process, and I'm grateful for their expertise. I wouldn't have been able to complete this arduous task on my own, and I would recommend reaching out to Cal Eco Arborists for their professionalism, speed, and wealth of knowledge.Posted on YelpVicky N.I highly recommend California Ecology Arborists for any property or tree-related assessments. They recently evaluated an encroachment issue from my neighbor's 14 podocarpus trees and an additional encroachment of creeping fig. I was thoroughly impressed by their deep expertise, professionalism, and strict integrity. Instead of taking sides, they provided a completely neutral, science-based assessment that gave me the exact clarity and facts I needed. If you are dealing with a complex landscape or property boundary dispute, these are the experts you want on your side. Key Highlights from Their Service: Unbiased Expertise: They base their findings purely on arboricultural science, tree health, and structural facts. True Integrity: Remained completely neutral, which is essential for accurate, legally defensible documentation. Clear Communication: Explained the encroachment issues in a way that was easy to understand without any alarmist language. You can reach out or learn more about their services directly on the California Ecology Arborists website.Posted on Yelp
