Jacob Goldin | Director of Business Operations
Jacob Goldin brings a background in business strategy, client development, and operational leadership to CalEco Arborists, with over six years across consulting, private equity research, and behavioral health operations. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy from UCLA, graduating magna cum laude.
At CalEco Arborists, Jacob supports operations, outreach, and organizational strategy, helping connect expert arboricultural services with the communities and legal professionals who need them most. He’s especially passionate about raising ecological awareness in urban environments.
Brian Chang | Marketing Director
Brian Chang holds degrees in Sociology and Marketing from James Cook University Singapore, along with a storytelling credential from RMIT Melbourne. His conservation work, from reforesting degraded lands in Costa Rica to sea turtle repopulation efforts, reflects a lifelong commitment to protecting people, wildlife, and shared environments.
At CalEco Arborists, Brian applies this combined background to ensure the company’s messaging, client engagement, and community outreach reflect its values of stewardship and sustainability.
Benjamin Capehart | Associate Arborist
Benjamin Capehart is an ISA Certified Arborist with professional experience across Washington State and Southern California. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2023, where he supported urban forestry initiatives funded through CAL FIRE grants.
After graduating, Benjamin managed commercial projects at a leading Washington arboricultural firm, developing tree care plans, overseeing hazardous removals, and coordinating large-scale pruning and landscape design.
Benjamin Martinez | Associate Arborist - San Jose
Benjamin Martinez is an ISA Certified Arborist (WE-330294A) and Associate Arborist serving San Jose and the greater Bay Area. He holds a B.S. in Natural Resource Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, with a background in urban forestry, vegetation management, and habitat restoration.
He also holds a California Native Plant Landscaper certification and B-Level Sawyer certification. As CalEco’s Associate Arborist in San Jose, he conducts onsite tree evaluations, field data collection, and tree inventories supporting the firm’s consulting arborist reports.
Newton Wong | Biologist
Newton Wong is a biologist with more than 20 years of experience in environmental planning, biological resource assessment, and regulatory compliance. His expertise includes endangered species surveys, wetland delineations, habitat restoration, and biological monitoring, along with environmental documentation under CEQA.
Newton brings extensive experience evaluating biological constraints and helping projects move forward while minimizing impacts to sensitive habitats and wildlife.
Jack | Executive Assistant
Jack grew up in Sherman Oaks, California, with a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He graduated from San Marino High School, where wrestling taught him discipline, perseverance, and hard work, values that continue to guide him today.
His fascination with plants and the natural world led him to arboriculture. Jack enjoys learning about plant species, evaluating tree health, and helping clients care for their landscapes.
Matt | Arborist in Training
Matt grew up in the mountains, where his love of hiking grew into a broader interest in native and invasive plant species. That curiosity led him to arboriculture, where he could work closely with his passion while building his knowledge and experience.
Matt is currently an arborist in training, assisting with onsite data collection and tree assessments. He’s particularly interested in ecosystem health and restoration.
Jennifer Ferguson | Business Operations
Jennifer Ferguson brings a background in business management and operations to CalEco Arborists, supporting the company through organization, client service, and business excellence. She earned a double major in Business Management and Operations Management from California State University, Long Beach.
At CalEco Arborists, Jennifer combines her business background with a strong appreciation for nature to support a team dedicated to practical, ethical, and scientifically grounded arboricultural consulting.
Summer Mueller | Executive Assistant
Summer Mueller is pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies at UC Santa Cruz and holds associate degrees in General Sciences and Social & Behavioral Sciences from Santa Monica College. She plans to pursue ISA Certified Arborist credentials after graduation.
Summer joined CalEco Arborists in March 2025 and contributes to graphic design, report preparation and editing, and internal organization, she also created CalEco’s company logo.
